The sculptures by Arnaud Nazare-Aga aim to bring happiness to those who view them. The choice of subjects, shapes, colors, and materials are designed to create harmony between the viewer and the artwork.
The Sumo collection, one of the artist's most appreciated, consists of three sculptures, each representing one of the positions adopted by the wrestlers. In this case, sumo is depicted in the Shiko position, which is the fighting stance with the leg raised ready to kick. The work is made of fiberglass, marble dust, and resin, entirely hand-painted and lacquered on the outside.
The XS size, measuring 16x13x9.5 cm, is ideal for enhancing any small space. Despite its small size, these Sumo sculptures convey all the solidity of their stature. The work is numbered and signed by the artist.
Arnaud Nazare-Aga was born in 1965 in Paris in a Tibetan Buddhist community in Burgundy. His origins, characterized by a strong religious attachment, led him to create numerous projects to decorate Buddhist temples in France, such as the Temple of a Thousand Buddhas in Autun. His skills and talent as a carpenter have led him to create three monumental Buddha sculptures within temples in collaboration with Bhutanese artists.
After numerous professional experiences in both Europe and Asia, Arnaud Nazare-Aga moved to Bangkok, where he founded his studio, PAJ’Art.
Various international fairs and galleries, both in Asia and Europe, have hosted the works of Arnaud Nazare-Aga. Among the most important are Art Stage Singapore, AAF Milan (Affordable Art Fair), and the Venice Biennale, where he presented a Sumo Totem over 4 meters tall, which is now located in Brescia.
