INTRODUCTION TO THE ARTIST
Romero Britto was born on October 6, 1963 in Recife, Brazil. After moving to Miami, he began his artistic career as a self-taught artist alongside street artist and taking inspiration from their forms and techniques. In this first phase the works by Romero Britto They are made from recycled materials such as newspaper clippings and pieces of cardboard.
The encounter with the works of masters such as Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso , allows the young Britto to begin to personalize his technique, which the New York Times defines as a source of warmth, optimism and love.
The Britto's works have been exhibited in galleries and museums in over 100 countries, including the exhibition at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux Arts at the Carrousel du Louvre in 2008 and 2010. In 2013 Romero Britto became the first living artist to exhibit at the Museo Soumaya in Mexico City.
