MEANING OF THE WORK
The work of David LaChapelle, Revelations It was made in 2019 and is a limited edition chromogenic print of 3 copies + 2 artist proofs.
The work depicts two elderly gentlemen intent on exchanging a passionate kiss in the middle of a deserted street, where something catastrophic seems to have just happened.
Defined as “the Fellini of photography”, LaChapelle has a style that can be traced back to the Baroque due to the intentionally excessive presence of elements in his shots. His photographs are characterized by a marked irony and a clear vision of contemporary society. His shots tell the modern world in his own way, very Pop and with little intellectualism.
The works are the result of artisan work in which the compositions are elaborate and the colours are saturated .
